FREQUESTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are these used for?

The unique sheds we’ve built have been used as, garden sheds, she-sheds, bunkhouses, saunas, playhouses, outhouses, greenhouses, bus stops, chicken coops, fairy houses, and potting sheds.

What is included in the base price?

One door, one window, asphalt shingles and your choice of cedar siding or barnwood.

What’s the best size for me?

A 5x6 is the most common size for everything except outhouses or bunkhouses

Do I need to build a base for it?

You don’t need to spend any money on prepping your yard. Most are simply leveled using paving stones.

How hard is it to transport?

These buildings are tall and heavy. You can pick them up at our home business and I can help you load or I also offer delivery for a fee based on time and mileage, see pricing for that.

Do I need to paint or stain my building?

Any wooden structure will fade due to weather. I suggest a clear sealant. I offer this as an upgrade.

Do you build on-site?

Any building over 6 feet wide needs to be built on-site because they get too tall. An 8-foot wide building is about 16 feet tall, while a 10 footer is over 20. That’s too tall to transport as state and interstate regulations require under 13’6” from tar to tip. For on site builds I do charge travel and lodging expenses.

Do we deliver?

We will deliver anywhere in the continental US and have traveled more than a thousand miles to build these, so if you are willing to pay my travel expenses I would love to help bring talents to your area.

What materials are used?

The base is always made using green-treated lumber and we use cedar siding or reclaimed barn wood siding. I also use vintage stained glass windows, corrugated steel shingles and I build custom doors.

How long will it last?

I use screws instead of nails, so these buildings will last as long as you keep them up with paint/stain.

What are the amenity options I can get?

We offer several upgrades to a finished interior, a loft, double dutch doors, outside paint, stain, or sealant. You can add more windows, skids with a front deck, and cedar shake shingle or scalloped steel roofing.

Where can I see one in person?

We are located in Foley MN. I can arrange an in-person visit to our home business where we have a few always on display as well as the three Patio Town locations in the Twin Cities area. We also have one displayed at Modern Barnyard in Waite Park MN, one at Daisy A Day Floral Shop in St Joe, MN and one on highway 169 at Highway Auto.
